Microsoft Teams is packed with time-saving tools, but many users only scratch the surface. Whether you're overwhelmed by chats or clicking around too much, these three tips will help you organize better, work faster, and stay on top of tasks.

1 - Organize Your Chats with Custom Sections
If your chat list feels like a mess, you're not alone. Microsoft Teams now lets you create custom chat sections (like folders) so you can group conversations however you like by project, priority, or department.
How to create a chat section:
Go to your Chat list
Click the “…” (More options) next to Pinned or any existing section
Select “Add section”
Name it (e.g., “Projects” or “Leadership Team”)
Drag chats into it to keep things tidy
2 - Use Slash Commands in the Search Bar
You don’t have to click through menus. Teams has slash commands that let you quickly perform actions or find content.
Popular commands:
/files – see your recent files
/call [Name] – start a call instantly
/saved – access your saved messages
3 - Save Messages to Review Later
Too many messages, not enough time? Save any message for later so nothing falls through the cracks.
How to save a message:
Hover over a message
Click the ellipsis (…)
Select “Save this message”
Later, type /saved in the search bar to access them
Final Thoughts
Implementing just a few of these tips can make a noticeable difference in how you work each day. By organizing your chats, using quick commands, and saving messages to follow up on, you’ll cut down on clutter and stay focused on what matters most.
